WAEC set for May/June 2016 examination

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has announced that the body has concluded all arrangements for the conduct of the 2016 May/June West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) across the states of the country.

This revelation was brought to light by the council’s Public Affairs Officer, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, in an interview on Thursday in Lagos.Ojijeogu said:

“We are fully prepared to conduct the examination in every part of the country as all logistics are fully on ground.

“Already, we have briefed all of our staff concerningthe exercise and we expect them to put in their best in order to ensure a huge success of the examination.

Security and examination materials have all been printed and are currently being deployed to the various examination centres across the country.

’’Ojijeogu also added that the council has put in place necessary security arrangement to ensure protection of lives and properties, especially in areas with security concern.

“We are also prepared fully for areas with security challenges, which we are not to let out.

The practical aspect of the examination started in February but the main papers are expected to begin on March 30.

We are hopeful that it will be an excellent outing,”
he said.
